Lisa Medoff
Organic brass and sterling jewelry made in NYC.
About Lisa:
When I was 5 years old, I went fishing with my dad and brother. As awful as it sounds, my dad accidentally hooked me when casting his line. I was gazing at the fish in the lake when I suddenly felt a tug on my head, but I don't really remember being in pain or distress. What I do remember is looking at myself in the rearview mirror admiringly on route to the hospital. I had a lovely feathered lure hanging down the side of my head and thought I looked like a mythical princess. I do believe my love of adornment started then and there.
Born and raised in the heart of Brooklyn, New York, I pursued my passion for learning about other cultures by earning a BA in Anthropology. Alongside my academic pursuits, I delved into the art of jewelry making, learning from master jewelers over the course of many years.
With over two and a half decades of experience as a jeweler, I contiue to draw inspiration from my travels across the globe and the intricate beauty of nature. My work embodies organic forms and reflects diverse cultural influences.
I like to think of the pieces I create as wearable sculptures. I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to channel my creativity into tangible forms and to share my passion with others who appreciate the beauty of handcrafted art.
